The Dominican American Bar Association collects and donates backpacks and school supplies to student in the Dominican Republic. Past-President, Nexcy De La Rosa-Monroe, piloted the program when she saw how lawyers in the US could have an impact on children of their home country. On an annual basis, over 200 backpacks filled with school supplies are shipped and distributed by DABA members and supporters to students in the Sabana Perdida province, in the capital city of Santo Domingo. Every year the students and their families are excited to receive the necessities to start off their school year with success.
